Scavenger Hunts: Bringing Joy to Southwest Florida and Supporting Local Businesses

What happens when local businesses hide gift cards and cash around town? Neighbors start looking for clues. Families head out on an adventure. Someone finds a surprise—and local businesses get a little extra love along the way. That’s what we’ve seen through the Snowbird Living scavenger hunts, and the response has been incredible! 🎉 Since September, participating businesses have purchased $485 in gift cards from local businesses for our hunts. On top of that, Matt’s Custom Golf Carts has generously gifted $300 in cash. That’s $785 in surprises, made possible by businesses that care about their community. How the Scavenger Hunts Work The idea is simple: a participating business purchases a gift card to a local business and provides it to Snowbird Living for a hunt. Then we create the experience! We hide the prize, share clues with our audience, and invite the community to get out and search. The person who finds it gets to keep it. The participating business supplies the gift card, while Snowbird Living provides the platform and creates a fun way to bring everyone together. Along the way, one business supports another, and someone in the community gets a surprise. Matt’s first gifted $100 in cash for a hunt, then followed it up with a $200 surprise at the 40-yard line of the football field. Once the clue was out, people were running around the field looking for the prize! It was so much fun to see the excitement unfold. A simple clue turned into a dash across the field, with neighbors joining in and everyone wondering who would find the cash first. Matt’s generosity has helped make these hunts something people look forward to.
