Upland trail sections are reached at pedestrian walk-through entrances in each section of the preserve, and portions of two paddle trail systems wind through the park. There is no drinking water in the backcountry and seasonal flooding can close trails — call 941-575-5816 for current trail conditions.

Report alligators that may pose a threat to people, pets, or property. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) assesses reports and coordinates the removal of qualifying nuisance alligators through its statewide program.

Report wildlife violations, illegal hunting or fishing, poaching, and certain injured or distressed wildlife. FWC helps protect Florida's native wildlife and natural resources throughout Ave Maria, Collier County, and Southwest Florida.
